It’s Google’s 11th birthday on Sunday, September 27th: so naturally, the site must have a special logo for it. For people viewing the site on where its already Sunday, the logo is a version that has the letter “L” as a number 11. The logo is already viewable in Europe.
What’s interesting about the logo change is that Google’s official birthday is somewhat disputed: some often declare the company was born on September 15th 1997, the day the Google.com domain was registered. Meanwhile, Google filed for incorporation in September 1998: the papers were filed on September 4th, but Google has been known to celebrate on both September 7th and September 27th. There are different days that have been celebrated in the past. Google's 10th birthday logo was on their site on September 2nd instead of the 27th like it is this year.
To explain the inconsistency, the company’s FAQ once famously read: “Google opened its doors in September 1998. The exact date when we celebrate our birthday has moved around over the years, depending on when people feel like having cake.” In recent years, Google has taken to changing its logo on September 27th, meaning this has been taken as the “official” date.

Personally I love Google. I love their quick-search capabilities, I love their Earth program, I love their silly logos they come up with. I also love the AdSense section where you can advertise different searches and websites on your website and rake in a few bucks here and there. Currently Google owes me $2.94 for this service, but they only pay up after you've made $100. Oh well.
Frankly I believe if the world crumbles and we go into an apocalypse, Google and Pepsi will be the only companies standing and everyone else will be feeding on one-another's brains. But that's just me.
On to current events. A school is fun. If you like staring at a computer screen going over the same crap, re-learning what you already learned days ago. So much fun. But, I have to learn it, and know it not only for the big tests I have coming up, but for when i go out to the fleet at [undesignated date]. Yea, don't even know what day I'll be done with it. Should be somewhere around December 5th .. ish. So hopefully I'll be home for Christmas, but if I'm not done with classes its okay, because they shut the whole base down and send all the students home to their families for Xmas anyway. So either way I win.
Since I last wrote you, two roommates have moved on, joined the fleet and began their years of service. Bey left about two weeks ago, so his leave at home should be expiring about right now. Hemlock left on Friday, but he decided for whatever reason that he didn't want to go home to see his family and just went straight to his ship in Norfolk. He got really lucky and got orders to a pre-commission ship. This means that they're still in the process of building the ship so its all shore-duty for him. He says it won't be done until 2011, so he gets two years of do-nothing and learn more about the systems in place instead of being thrown out in the mixing bowl to learn it all while rockin' on the ocean.
In Bey's place we got Joseph, he seems pretty cool. He's only 18 and already married. I know right? I'm not getting married until I'm at least 23, maybe a year earlier. I just think thats too young to be married. He seems to know alot about finances and managing his money, which is good, because most kids his age just spend and spend. Like me.
But yes. Life is good. I finally added my pictures from graduation weekend. If you have not seen them. Go. Now. I really really really miss my loved one by the name of Sarah 
. Hopefully [if all my chits go through correctly] she'll be in my arms once more on Oct. 9th. Oh how I await that day. I'm done writing now for I have to pee. View my pics, comment them, fave them and love me forever. Deuces!
